Year 3 Teacher

Barnet, London

Outer London M1 - UPS1

Start date: September 2026

Are you a primary teacher looking to move into or continue within Key Stage 2 in a well-structured and supportive school?

A well-organised primary school in Barnet is seeking a Year 3 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a permanent opportunity within a school recognised by Ofsted as Good, with a strong focus on consistency and clear teaching practices across the school.

About the School

The school serves a settled local community and is known for its calm environment and structured approach to learning. The transition from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2 is carefully managed, with Year 3 seen as a key stage in building independence and embedding core skills.

There are clear systems in place for behaviour, planning, and assessment, allowing teachers to focus on delivery rather than creating resources from scratch. Staff work collaboratively, and leadership is visible and supportive, with a focus on maintaining standards across all year groups.

What You’ll Benefit From

• Clear schemes of work and long-term planning across KS2

• Consistent behaviour systems used across the school

• Support from an experienced KS2 team and phase lead

• Shared planning to reduce workload

• CPD focused on classroom practice and pupil progress

The Role

As a Year 3 Teacher, you will support pupils as they transition into Key Stage 2, helping them to develop confidence, independence, and strong learning habits.

You will:

• Deliver structured and engaging lessons across the curriculum

• Support pupils in adapting to KS2 expectations

• Use assessment to identify gaps and support progress

• Maintain clear routines and high expectations for behaviour

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency

What They’re Looking For

This role would suit a Year 3 Teacher who:

• Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has experience in primary education (KS1 or KS2)

• Understands the transition from KS1 to KS2

• Can establish strong routines and expectations

• Takes a consistent and practical approach to teaching

Please note: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available.
