LEVEL 3 EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER – PRIMARY SCHOOL – FINCHLEY

Location: Finchley, North London

Hours: 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Start Date: September 2026

End Date: July 2027, with the possibility of continuing longer

Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

Enrich Education Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in Finchley seeking a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join its Early Years team from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term position running throughout the academic year until July 2027, with the possibility of the role continuing for the right candidate.

The school is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable practitioner who understands how young children learn and develop. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment.

THE ROLE

As a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, you will support children’s learning, development and wellbeing throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting children within Nursery or Reception

• Delivering engaging, play-based learning activities

• Supporting early communication, language, literacy and numeracy

• Helping children develop confidence, independence and positive routines

• Observing children and contributing to learning records and assessments

• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL

• Preparing resources and maintaining an organised learning environment

• Supporting children during transitions, lunchtime and outdoor learning

• Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and school staff

• Following safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate should have:

• A recognised Level 3 Early Years or childcare qualification

• Experience working with children in Nursery, Reception or another Early Years setting

• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework

• A warm, patient and nurturing approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• The ability to support children with different learning and developmental needs

• A reliable and professional attitude

• A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

• The ability to commit to the full academic year

Experience working within a primary school would be advantageous, although candidates with strong nursery or private Early Years experience are also encouraged to apply.

THE SCHOOL

The school is a supportive and inclusive primary school in Finchley with a welcoming Early Years department.

Staff work closely together to provide children with a positive start to their education. The successful practitioner will receive support from the class teacher, Early Years lead and wider school team.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this Early Years Practitioner role, you must:

• Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years or childcare qualification

• Be available full-time from September 2026

• Be able to work from 8:30am until 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

• Be able to commit until at least July 2027

• Have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

• Be able to provide suitable professional references

• Have the right to work in the UK
