Experienced KS2 Learning Support Assistant – Camden

Enrich Education Recruitment is working with a successful and welcoming primary school in Camden looking for a highly skilled Learning Support Assistant to work across a Key Stage 2 year group.

This is not a traditional 1:1 TA position. The school is looking for a confident and experienced LSA who can add value across the whole year group, working alongside class teachers to support pupils at different levels of attainment.

You could be supporting a higher-attaining group with more challenging Maths work in one lesson, delivering an intervention for pupils working below age-related expectations in the next, and providing targeted support for a child with SEN where required.

The school needs someone adaptable, academically confident and able to quickly understand where their support will have the greatest impact.

The Role

Working across the KS2 year group, you will:

• Support learning across English, Maths and the wider KS2 curriculum

• Work with higher-attaining pupils, providing appropriate challenge and extension

• Support pupils working below age-related expectations to close gaps in learning

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions

• Provide additional support for pupils with SEN when required

• Adapt your approach to different abilities and learning needs

• Reinforce teacher input and help pupils work more independently

• Support pupils with their confidence, engagement and progress

• Work closely with class teachers to identify where additional support is needed

• Provide effective classroom support without creating dependency

About You

The school is looking for someone with strong previous experience within KS2 who is confident supporting pupils academically as well as pastorally.

You should:

• Have strong experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant

• Have a good understanding of the KS2 curriculum

• Be confident supporting English and Maths

• Be comfortable working with both higher and lower-attaining pupils

• Have experience delivering interventions or targeted small-group work

• Be able to support pupils with SEN and adapt learning appropriately

• Have strong spoken and written English

• Be proactive and able to use your initiative

• Build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations

• Be confident moving between classes, groups and individual pupils as needed

Experience supporting Year 5 or Year 6, SATs preparation, phonics, Maths or English interventions, ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs or SEMH would all be particularly valuable.
